🇪🇺 EU Sovereignty

EU-sovereign by default.

Not an EU region on a US platform. A European company, European infrastructure, European jurisdiction. And if your enterprise needs Azure, AWS, or GCP — we do that too.

Most cloud platforms offer an "EU region" as a checkbox. But if the parent company is American, a US court order can compel data access regardless of where it's stored. Shaep is different. Next Epoch B.V. is a Dutch company. Our managed platform runs on Scaleway, a French provider. No US parent, no Cloud Act exposure. And for enterprises that need to run on their own cloud — Azure, AWS, or GCP — we offer self-hosted deployments under an Enterprise agreement.

EU-sovereign by default.

Our managed platform runs entirely on EU-owned infrastructure. Enterprise customers who need Azure, AWS, or GCP can self-host Shaep on their own cloud under an Enterprise agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Is Shaep subject to the US Cloud Act? +

No. Shaep is operated by Next Epoch B.V., a Dutch company. Our infrastructure provider Scaleway is French. There is no US parent company, no US subsidiary, and no legal path for US authorities to compel data access.

Where exactly does my data live? +

On the managed platform, all data is stored and processed on EU-owned infrastructure operated by Scaleway in France. Enterprise customers can choose to self-host on Azure, AWS, or GCP under their own cloud account.

What about AI model providers? +

When you use an AI assistant, the connection is direct between your editor and your chosen provider. Your code is never routed through Shaep servers for AI processing, and we never train models on your data.

Can we run Shaep on our own cloud? +

Yes. Under an Enterprise agreement, Shaep can be deployed on Azure, AWS, or GCP in your own cloud account. You control the infrastructure, we provide the platform.

How does this differ from US platforms with an EU region? +

US platforms with EU regions are still subject to the Cloud Act — a US court order can compel the US parent company to hand over data regardless of where it's stored. Shaep has no US parent company. There is no legal mechanism for this.
